Why Families Choose Us

Child-friendly hostel in central Tula — comfortable and budget-friendly

Looking for a hostel in Tula for a family with kids and don't want to sleep in a shared dorm with 8 strangers drinking beer until morning? We have a different format: a private family room-mini-apartment — a separate room with the key only in your hands, no outsiders inside. Hostel price (from 400 ₽/person), hotel-level privacy. This is not a bed in a shared room — it's your own room for a family of 2, 3, 4 or 5 people that no one enters without knocking. For a mom with an infant, for parents with two school-age kids, for a grandma with a grandson visiting Tula for the weekend — it works for everyone.

We have been hosting families with kids aged 0 to 17 for 8 years and we know that a child needs different things on a trip depending on age. An infant needs a baby crib and a changing area. A toddler needs a high chair and a potty. A five-year-old needs coloring books to make the evening pass quietly. A first-grader needs board games. A teenager needs stable Wi-Fi. All of this we prepare free of charge for your arrival — just tell us the child's age at booking. Meals are not included in the room price, but the kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge and dishes is at your disposal 24/7.

5 Tips for a Family Arriving in Tula with a Child

Gathered from 8 years of hosting kids aged 0 to 17

1. Bring a first-aid kit with YOUR OWN fever reducer

The «Rigla» pharmacy near the hostel (5 minutes on foot) has kids Panadol syrup, Nurofen, electrolyte drink, fever suppositories — all sold without prescription. But if your child only takes a specific brand — bring it from home to avoid brand-matching stress on the road.

2. Plan school-age walks WITHOUT a stroller

Central Tula is cobblestones and paving stones in the old part — pushing a stroller is inconvenient. Kids from age 5 walk comfortably on foot, and the Kremlin walls and park are more interesting to explore this way. For toddlers, do bring the stroller — Lenin and Sovetskaya streets have smooth sidewalks.

3. Book a room 3-5 days ahead and specify the age

We have a limited stock of baby cribs and high chairs (3 each). During school holidays (autumn, winter, spring, summer), family bookings come in waves, and if you book «the day before» — we may not have time to prepare the specific kids setup. Call in advance: +7 (920) 775-00-11.

4. Use our kitchen — save 2000-3000 ₽ per trip

Meals are not included in the room price, but the kitchen is fully equipped: stove, microwave, kettle, fridge, all dishes. Kids porridge for breakfast, ready-pack soup for lunch, cottage cheese and cookies — cost a family of 3 about 500 ₽/day versus 2500-3000 ₽/day in cafes. Groceries at «Magnit» 3 minutes on foot.

5. Ask for room keys for every adult

We give up to 3 keys per family room free of charge. Convenient: one adult walks with the younger child, another stays in the room with the older, the third goes shopping — everyone enters without waiting. No deposit for keys, lost keys are replaced within an hour.

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, 3 baby cribs (standard 120×60 cm with rails and mattress), 3 high chairs, 3 potties. All provided free of charge, no deposit. If you're traveling with an infant — please tell us the age at booking so we reserve your crib specifically (during holidays they get taken). Diapers and kids-size bedding are also free.

Walls between private family rooms are load-bearing brick, and between the room and corridor there's a double partition with mineral wool insulation and soundproofing membrane. You barely hear neighbors through the wall. Our quiet hours are 23:00-07:00 — all guests know that loud conversations and TV are prohibited after 23:00. In 8 years, no family has ever complained that their child couldn't fall asleep.

The official daytime quiet hour is 13:00-15:00, when we ask other guests not to vacuum in corridors, not to shout in shared areas, and not to rearrange rooms. If you have an infant who sleeps on schedule (morning + afternoon nap), tell reception — we'll warn floor neighbors personally.

A standard compact stroller (Yoya, Chicco, Peg-Perego compact) will fit in your private room, there's enough space. Large travel systems (Adamex, Riko) can be stored in a special enclosed corner under the ground floor stairs (camera-monitored, guest-only access). Same spot for kids bikes, scooters, rollerblades.

Yes, our reception is 24/7, night admin is always available. If the child is already sleeping in your arms — call an hour before arrival, we'll unlock the room and prepare it (dimmed light, baby crib in place, water on the nightstand) so you can check in as quietly as possible without waking the little one.

Every private family room has its own bathroom with shower — changing the child is easiest in your own room. On the ground floor near reception is a shared bathroom with a changing table for the first 10 minutes after arrival, before check-in. We'll also bring a changing table into your room on request — say so at booking.

Don't worry — a kids accident (broken cup, stained bedding) is not charged. We've been hosting families for 8 years and we understand that kids explore with their hands. We'll only ask for payment for serious damage (broken TV, drenched electronics, broken window) — and even then by mutual agreement, not by inflated price list. Just tell reception — we'll replace or fix it.
