Tula is not a scaled-down Moscow but a city with a different rhythm — and that is its main upside for a weekend.

Prices are roughly half. A cafe lunch is 350–500 RUB against 900–1200 RUB in central Moscow. A hostel bed starts at 400 RUB, not 1200–1800 RUB for a night in a capital hostel.
