Until what time is reception open — can we check in after a late concert at 3–4 a.m.?

Reception is open until 4 a.m. by prior arrangement — tell us when the concert ends and when you'll arrive. The night manager waits, key handed over in 5 minutes. Without warning, after 24:00 the night bell works — waiting time 10–15 minutes.

How do we safely store instruments and props on tour?

Guitars, keyboards, violins, microphones — into your room, locked, in the wardrobe or on the floor. The room is assigned to your team for the whole stay; no outsiders enter. Bulky gear — in the locked car in the yard under CCTV or in reception storage under inventory.

Is there an iron and steam generator for stage costumes?

Three things break a performance more surely than bad sound at the venue: a voice ruined by AC in the room, a body wrecked by a late check-in, a costume crumpled in a suitcase. We've thought all three through for touring artists:

5 Touring Rules — What to Do on the Road So You Don't Ruin the Show

Five non-obvious rules gathered from teams that stopped with us for 1–3 nights between Moscow, Lipetsk, Kaluga, and Ryazan. Works for a theatre troupe just as much as for a band with a full instrument set:

Book the room first, then the rehearsal

Classic mistake — agreeing a 15:00 soundcheck with the sound engineer, and by evening finding out a conference is in town and every central hostel is full. Book with us 2–3 days ahead (no prepayment), and only then agree the soundcheck with the venue. Call +7 (920) 775-00-11 and just say "band of 6, 2 nights from 15 March" — we hold the beds for 24 hours with no deposit.

Iron the costume the evening before, not on show day

In the morning before doors, the ironing board is usually taken by other artists. Iron your costume / shirt / kimono in the evening right after check-in (while the utility area is free), hang it in the wardrobe — the fabric won't crumple by concert time. Ask reception for the steam generator an hour in advance — it warms up while you're having tea.

Protect the voice: ginger + still water + don't shout in the bar

No fizzy drinks (they irritate the cords) and nothing cold (spasm). Brew ginger with honey and lemon in the room kettle an hour before sleep — all of it costs 30–80 RUB across the road at Magnit. After the show, don't head to a loud bar where you'll be "shouting over the music" for 2 hours — that guarantees a hoarse voice tomorrow. Sleep with the window open at 18–20 °C: the throat needs coolness and humidity, not scorching radiators.

Instruments — in your own room under lock, not in the car

Guitars, keyboards, violins, microphones — carry them into the room, put them in the wardrobe, lock the door. The room is yours until check-out, no one enters. Leaving an instrument in the car in the yard is a bad idea: winter temperature swings kill the top of an acoustic guitar; summer sun warps keys. Bulky gear (cabinet, drum stand) — in the locked car in the yard under CCTV, but light and valuable items — into the room only.

Sleep in until 11 a.m. — check-out is free until 12:00

Don't agree to morning interviews and prop unload before 10:00 — a touring day runs a minimum of 14 hours; sleep 5 and you sabotage the evening show. Check-out is free until 12:00, late check-out until 18:00 costs 200 RUB (for those with a second concert in the region that evening). Breakfast from Magnit on the shared kitchen — porridge with milk in the microwave, quark, banana, coffee — 15 minutes and you're up.

Bottom line: a tour isn't about "sleeping in the van between cities" — it's about smart timing of sleep, costume, and vocal cords. Three nights with us = three full performances with no hoarseness and no crumpled jackets.
